4.1 Application Process

Graduates of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Greece or equivalent recognized institutions abroad are eligible to apply, provided they come from relevant academic fields, including but not limited to education, psychology, health sciences, social work, law, management, political science, technology, and other related disciplines.
The maximum number of admitted students to the Joint Master’s Program is set at thirty (30) in total.
The selection of students is carried out in accordance with the applicable legislation, the Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Regulations of the University of Thessaly, and the provisions of the present Internal Regulation.

Application Timeline

Each year, during the period of April–May, a call for applications is published on the website of the Program and the University, following a decision of the Program Committee.
Applications, along with the required supporting documents, are submitted to the collaborating foreign institution responsible for the administrative management of the Program, within the timeframe specified in the call (Phase I). This period may be extended by decision of the Program Committee (Phase II).

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Application form, including a statement of purpose outlining the reasons for applying and the intended area of specialization
  2. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  3. Copy of Bachelor’s degree or certificate of completion
  4. Official transcript of undergraduate studies
  5. Copies of any additional degrees (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD)
  6. Publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings (if applicable)
  7. Evidence of scholarships or awards
  8. Three (3) letters of recommendation
  9. Official proof of English language proficiency (minimum level B2)
  10. Evidence of professional or research experience (if applicable)
  11. Any additional supporting documents relevant to the application

Selection Criteria

Applicants are evaluated based on a total score (scale 1–100), according to the following criteria:

Selection Procedure

Based on the above criteria, the Program Committee prepares and approves the final ranking list of candidates. In case of a tie, selection is determined by lottery.

Admission and Enrollment

Successful applicants are required to:

  • Pay the tuition fees to the collaborating foreign university, according to the published payment schedule
  • Complete their enrollment through the foreign institution administering the Program

If admitted candidates do not complete their registration, the next candidates on the ranking list are invited until all available positions are filled.

For Greek candidates holding degrees from foreign institutions, enrollment is finalized only upon submission of a certified copy of their degree (through legally recognized procedures).
